Sporangia in 2 rows, 1 on each side of midvein of contracted, oblong, marginal lobes of ultimate segments, covered by hoodlike flap of tissue serving as indusium. Spores tetrahedral-globose, trilete, rarely monolete. Gametophytes terrestrial, cordate, glabrous. Plants terrestrial.
